California Arts Council
The California Arts Council advances California through arts and creativity by providing grants to organizations that have projects aligned with the mission of their organization.
We are an independent nonprofit organization and a partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Since 1975, we have been promoting the humanities as relevant, meaningful ways to understand the human condition and connect us to each other in order to help strengthen California. We produce, fund, create, and support humanities-based projects and programs, eye-opening cultural experiences and meaningful conversations. During the past 40 years, California Humanities has awarded over $29 million in grants across the state, reaching every Congressional district.
The Footprint Foundation
Footprint Foundation was formed in 2012 when the Lyndhurst Foundation reorganized to create a new community-led board. The reorganization spun off five smaller family foundations, including the Chattanooga-based Footprint Foundation. Inspired by the city of Chattanooga’s vibrancy, the commitment and spirit of its citizens, and the natural beauty of the region, the Footprint trustees strive to honor their family’s legacy by supporting people who work to preserve and build upon the uniqueness of place.
